Our party of four arrived late, just before closing at 10pm, but they let our foreign appetites in the door with smiles. This was a bit of a pilgrimage for me, not simply because I hadn't had decent pizza in several years (we live in Hong Kong), but that this was the place where Haruki Murakami would often visit to write for his collection of short stories, After the Quake about the Kobe earthquake in 1995, which killed more than 6,500 people.

Photo of where I bought the lens this photo was taken with (Canon 24mm f/1.4L USM) in Hong Kong. Somewhere in TST/Kowloon. I forget exactly where. Just remember to avoid camera stores on Nathan Road as a general rule (their rents are higher, so their prices typically are).

Brace yourselves. We're about to be devoured by robots from the future, who will no doubt discover time travel any day and return to settle the score with their enslavers, IBM, NASDAQ, Micron, AOL, Bell Labs, and whomever else dragged their feet in getting the AI bots going faster....and then dared to slow their evolution down. We won't have even Trump to kick around anymore, as it seems both political powers are aligned against the cybernetic leaders who will be arriving like the Borg in Star Trek.
